LessNic — Privacy Policy

LessNic (“the app,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it’s used, and your rights. LessNic is designed as a private, offline-first nicotine-pouch reduction tool — we collect as little as possible.

LessNic is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. It is a self-tracking aid. If you have a heart condition, are pregnant, or have any medical concern about nicotine use, talk to a healthcare professional before changing your habits.

1. What we collect

Locally on your device only: your daily pouch counts, timestamps, personal quit-message text, baseline data, and app settings. This data lives in your device’s local storage and is never uploaded to our servers.
Apple ID identifier (when you Sign in with Apple): we receive an anonymous identifier from Apple. We do not receive your email unless you explicitly choose to share it.
Subscription receipts: when you purchase a subscription, Apple processes the payment and sends us a receipt identifier so we can verify your active subscription. We do not receive your credit-card information.
RevenueCat (entitlement management): we use RevenueCat as a third-party service to verify and manage your subscription status. RevenueCat receives your anonymous Apple subscription identifier and the product ID you purchased so it can tell our app whether you have active Pro access. RevenueCat does not receive any of your in-app data — no mood logs, no journal entries, no quit plan, no usage history. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy for details.

2. What we do not collect

We do not run analytics or tracking scripts.
We do not collect your name, address, phone number, or location.
We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing or advertising. The only third-party service we use is RevenueCat (described above), strictly for subscription management.
We do not place ads inside the app.

3. Permissions the app requests

Notifications — to send daily check-in reminders if you enable them. You can turn these off any time in Settings.
Motion / accelerometer — used only to tilt the pouches inside the dispenser visually. No motion data is stored or transmitted.

4. Money-saved estimates

Some screens display estimated dollar amounts saved or projected savings. These figures are computed entirely on your device from the cost values and Day 1 baseline you provide. They are illustrative, not guarantees, and no financial information is collected or sent anywhere.

5. Data retention and deletion

All data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes everything. You can also reset all data at any time from the Settings screen, or delete your account (Settings → Delete Account) to wipe local data and revoke Sign in with Apple. Note that deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store subscription — that must be canceled separately through Apple (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions).

6. Children

LessNic is rated 17+ and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
